‘I’ve always loved to dance, and was lucky enough to find a very good local Belly dance teacher, teaching me the authentic Egyptian, and Saidi Belly dance styles. I have performed with The Desert Queens for the past 5 years, from that I was asked to join their side troupe the Dessert Roses. As a member of a troupe I have gained valuable experience and enjoyed performing at our host teachers hafla’s, and other belly dancers Hafla’s, a highlight was performing on stage in Wales. I have also done a few classes of Gypsy Tribal Caravan with ‘Wendy Hughes’, and dabbled in ATS. Also I have attended different types of bellydance workshops, but the most memorable one is dancing with ‘Carmen Jones’ which I very much enjoyed. It was at a chance meeting at a small festival this year after the restrictions had eased, that I got chatting with Aziza, who I had seen performing before at a few Haflas and I always loved their varying styles including medieval.I was asked to join their troupe, which I felt very honoured that they thought that I was good enough and so accepted. So here I am ready to experience new experiences, have fun and dance’.
